Hi, I’m Felipe Ponce, I’m from Brazil and I am 17 years old, next year I’ll 18, so I’ll do my DTS!
I was looking for a DTS to do and I found out this one, I would like to know which language you use in Celtic Way DTS, what are the requirements and how this DTS works, please!
Thanks, Felipe
English is the main language used on the course, however, we love having trainees from all nations.
hi! i was just wondering what life looked like. what is a normal schedule? is there homework, how much? are there tests for the classes? is there free time? how do you live? Are there dorms or available housing? do people have part time jobs while they work? what do you do for meals, for laundry, etc.? I understand that each DTS is probably different, but an idea would be nice.
Thanks! God bless!
Hannah
HI Hannah
A normal schedule on the DTSs in Scotland will vary, however, during the classroom training part of the course there is about 12-15 hours of teaching during the week, both during the day and in a couple of evenings.
There is some free time – most weekends are free, although sometimes there is local outreach. There are set mealtimes, which are included in your course fees.
DTS Trainees live on the YWAM base, usually sharing with a few other students in a room.
DTS Trainees can’t have a part time job during the course as your UK Visa doesn’t permit it, and the course is full time.
Laundry facilities are available on the YWAM bases, at a reasonable price.
Homework – there is a little homework, depending on the DTS – sometimes you will be required to keep a journal which will be discussed with your leader on a weekly basis, there may be book reports as well. It really depends on the leaders of the DTS how they assess your understanding and growth during the course
I hope that helps, Hannah! Feel free to ask any other questions you like.
Chris
